Step 1
Pick your ratio
Bigger tires need a numerically higher ratio. Pick your JK’s year range for our recommendations, automatic or manual. Driving a JL? Head to our JL/JT regear page. Driving a TJ? Our Jeep regear guide covers it.
2012-2018 JK · 3.6L
2007-2011 JK · 3.8L
Your engine, transmission, driving style and added weight like rooftop tents or other gear can impact what the right ratio is for your individual rig. Running a 4-door with armor, a rack or a trailer? Go to the top of the range. The 3.8L makes less power than the 3.6L, so it needs more gear on the same tire.
Step 2
Find your gear package
Includes front and rear gear sets, and master install kits with all the components needed to do the job right the first time.

Ratios
4.10 · 4.56 · 4.88 · 5.13 · 5.38
Rubicon or not? Every JK Rubicon, including the Hard Rock, Recon, Rubicon X and 10th Anniversary, has Dana 44s front and rear. Nearly every other JK, including the Sport, Sahara, Willys Wheeler and Freedom, has a Dana 30 front and a Dana 44 rear.
Factory 3.21 gears? Your Dana 30 front needs a new 3.73-and-up carrier before it takes any of these ratios. Make it an Eaton ELocker and you get a selectable front locker in the same install. It rides on CK3035 carrier bearings. The rear keeps its factory carrier, and so do JKs with factory 3.73s or 4.10s. Not sure what you have? Send us a message with your VIN.
2007 JK? A few early 2007s left the factory with a Dana 35 rear. Send us your VIN before you order.
Need an Individual Gear Set?
Front and rear must match, so order the ratio you run at the other end.
Ring and pinion sets
Each gear set needs its own install kit. Add the matching master install kit for that axle. Gear packages already include them.

Step 3
Dial it in
New gears and tires mean your Jeep is running on the wrong numbers. Set your tire size and gear ratio so your speedometer reads true.

Tazer JK Blaster
✓Sets your tire size and axle ratio from an app on your phone
✓Plugs into the factory OBD2 port
✓Fits 2007-2018 Wrangler JK
Step 4
Build it once
Doing gears means the axles are already apart. Add shafts, lockers and covers now and pay for that labor once.
Axle shafts
Discovery Series 4340 Chromoly Axle Kits
✓Rear kits ship pressed with bearings, seals and retainers, plus wheel studs in the box
✓10 Year Limited Warranty on the shafts against breakage, bent axles and twisted splines
Find Your Axle Kit
Keeping the factory differentials? Run the kit that matches: 32 spline for the Rubicon rear, 30 spline for the non-Rubicon rear. The Rubicon front kit works with the factory locker only. Our 35 spline rear kit is for non-Rubicon rears running a 35 spline locker. Rear kits are drilled for both 5x5 and 5x5.5 bolt patterns.

Eaton ELocker
✓Runs open on the street and locks both wheels at the push of a dash switch
✓Electric, with the switch and wiring harness included
Find Your ELocker
Rubicons come locked front and rear. Factory rear locker? Just add the front. The Dana 30 ELocker is the 3.73-and-up version, so it fits every ratio we sell. Match the rear to your axle spline count.

Driveshafts
CV Driveshafts

✓Limited Lifetime Warranty on twisted tubing or broken welds
Find Your Driveshaft

Quick answers
Regear questions
The things JK owners ask us most.
01Do I really need to regear for bigger tires?
If you want your Jeep to drive right, yes. Bigger tires on factory gears cost you power, and the automatic ends up hunting between gears. Regearing to a numerically higher ratio restores performance and improves torque delivery to the wheels.
02What comes in a gear package?
Front and rear ring and pinion sets in the ratio you choose, plus matching front and rear master install kits with the components needed to overhaul each ring and pinion setup.
03Do the front and rear need the same ratio?
Yes. Front and rear must run the same ratio. A gear package gets you both in the ratio you pick.
04Which ratio should I run?
Start with the ranges above, then check them with our RPM calculator. Or send us your tire size, engine and transmission and we’ll tell you. Every engine and transmission is in our Jeep regear guide.
05My JK has factory 3.21 gears. What else do I need?
A 3.73-and-up carrier for the Dana 30 front. The factory 3.21 front carrier won’t take 3.73 or higher. The rear keeps its factory carrier, and so do JKs with factory 3.73s or 4.10s. Not sure what you have? Send us a message with your VIN.
06Can I install gears myself?
Setting up gears takes the right tools and experience. We publish our differential setup specs and break-in procedure so you and your installer start from the right numbers.
07Do I need to reprogram after a regear?
Yes. Until you update the tire size and axle ratio, your Jeep is still calculating speed from the factory setup, so your speedometer reads wrong. The Tazer JK Blaster sets both.
08Can I run 35 spline axles?
On a non-Rubicon rear, yes, with a 35 spline aftermarket locker. The factory differential takes 30 spline shafts (32 on the Rubicon), so if you keep it, run the kit that matches.
09What’s the warranty?
Ring and pinions: 2 Year Limited Warranty. Discovery Series axles: 10 Year Limited Warranty, covering manufacturing defects, breakage, bent axles and twisted splines (bearings and seals are wear items). Front axle kit u-joints: 1 Year, or 10 Year Limited with our HD u-joints. Driveshafts: Limited Lifetime Warranty for twisted tubing or broken welds. Diff covers, master install kits and bearing & seal kits: 1 Year Limited Warranty. Full details on our warranty page.
